Republish articles to Ghost, dev.to, Medium and Substack

Put a copy of an article on the sites AI engines cite, with a link back to your original so it never competes with your own page.

AI assistants often cite articles on Medium, Substack, dev.to and Ghost newsletters. Republishing a Content Studio article there adds sources that can mention your brand. Each copy carries a canonical link to the original, which tells search engines your page is the original, so the copy does not compete with it.

Where to find it

Open an article (blog post, guide, landing page copy) in Content Studio. Below the WordPress and React publishing cards you will find the Republish card. Social posts, emails and scripts do not show it.
The Original page field is filled with the article's WordPress or site URL when it has been published. You can change it. If it is empty, publish the article on your own site first if you can; otherwise the copy stands on its own.

Ghost and dev.to

  1. 1Click Connect Ghost or Connect dev.to on the Republish card.
  2. 2Ghost: enter your site URL and an Admin API key (Ghost Admin → Settings → Integrations → Add custom integration). dev.to: paste an API key (dev.to → Settings → Extensions → DEV Community API Keys).
  3. 3Click Check and connect. Reaudit checks the key with the platform, then stores it encrypted. It is never shown again.
  4. 4On the article, click Publish to post it live, or Save as draft there to review it on the platform first.
  5. 5Ghost only: choose a newsletter in Email it with to send the post to your subscribers as well.
The copy keeps your headings, lists, links and cover image, and ends with "Originally published at …". dev.to takes up to 4 tags. Everything you republish is listed under Republished on the card and marked on your visibility chart.

Medium and Substack

Neither lets apps publish for you (Medium closed its API to new apps in 2025; Substack has no publishing API), so Reaudit prepares the article and the steps.
  • Prepare for Medium: if the article has an original page, use Medium's Import a story with that URL. Medium copies the article and sets the canonical link for you. Otherwise copy the article into a new story.
  • Prepare for Substack: click Copy article, start a new post in Substack and paste it. The headings and links come with it. Keep the "Originally published at" line at the end.
  • Download .md saves the article as Markdown for any other site.

Approvals and guardrails

If your project uses the approval chain, an article must be approved before it can be republished live (drafts are allowed). Agent republishing is checked against your project guardrails, like any other publishing.

From the AI Agent or an MCP client

  • list_syndication_connections: the Ghost and dev.to accounts connected to the project, with Ghost newsletters.
  • republish_content: republish an article (contentId, connectionId, optional status: draft, canonicalUrl, newsletter).
  • export_content_for_platform: the Medium or Substack version with the steps.
  • Accounts are connected in the app only, so API keys never pass through an AI conversation.
