Search Opportunities: your monthly keyword to-do list from Search Console

Every month Reaudit reads your Google Search Console data and lists the keywords worth working on: striking distance, low click-through, declining queries and content gaps, ranked by the extra clicks they could bring.

Most teams open Search Console once a month, export the queries and look for the ones that are almost there: on page two, ranking well but rarely clicked, or slipping. Search Opportunities does that for you on the 3rd of every month and turns each one into an action you can start in a click.

Before you start

  • Connect Google Analytics in Integrations and switch on Search Console for the project (choose the property for your website).
  • Search Opportunities is part of the Agency and Enterprise plans.
  • It uses only your own Search Console data. It does not use AI and does not use credits.

Where to find it

  1. 1Select your project in the project switcher.
  2. 2In the sidebar, open Unified Analytics and then Search Opportunities. (It also appears as a tab in the SEO hub for accounts in that beta.)
  3. 3The report for last month is built automatically on the 3rd of each month, when Google has finished last month's data. You get a notification when it is ready.
  4. 4No report yet? Press Build to create last month's report now.

The four kinds of opportunity

  • Striking distance: your page sits at an average position between 4 and 20. A refresh that answers the search better can move it onto page one or into the top three, where most clicks go.
  • Low CTR: your page already ranks in the top 10 but people rarely click it. In the top 4 that means under half the usual click-through for that position; lower down, under a quarter. Usually the title and description don't match what people searched, or an AI Overview answers the question on Google itself.
  • Declining: compared with the month before, the query lost at least 30% of its clicks, or a page in the top 10 slipped three or more places. The reason line says whether impressions fell too (less demand or a lower ranking) or only clicks (something on the results page took them, such as an AI Overview or ads).
  • Content gap: people search for it and Google shows your site, but your best page sits below position 20. A page written for that search could compete.

Brand searches are kept apart

Searches that contain your brand name, its aliases, your domain or a one-letter misspelling of a brand name of six or more letters (for example "northwand" for "northwind") count as branded. They are left out of striking distance, low CTR and content gaps, because you already own them, but they do show up when they decline. The summary at the top splits clicks into all and non-brand, month on month.

Reading a row

  • Query and the page Google shows most for it. "+2 other pages rank" means several of your pages compete for the same search (see Keyword Cannibalization).
  • Position, impressions, clicks and CTR for last month, with last month's values where they help ("was 9.2").
  • Est. gain: about how many extra clicks a month the query could bring if the action works. It uses typical click-through rates by position, so use it to decide what to do first, not as a forecast.
  • Why: one sentence with the numbers behind the suggestion.

Acting on it

  • Draft refresh or Draft page opens Content Studio with the keyword, the page and the reason already filled in. Review and generate.
  • Reaudit remembers the draft: the opportunity shows Draft started, and publishing the draft from Content Studio marks the opportunity done for you.
  • Low CTR opportunities have no draft button: rewrite the page title and meta description, then mark it done.
  • Use ✓ to mark an opportunity done and ✕ to dismiss it. Switch the list to Done or Dismissed to see or reopen them. Statuses are shared with your team and kept when the month is rebuilt.
  • CSV downloads every opportunity of the month with all its numbers, handy for a client spreadsheet or an SEO report.

Past months

Use the month picker to open earlier reports. Rebuild fetches the month again from Search Console; anything you marked done or dismissed stays that way if the opportunity is still there.

From your AI assistant (MCP)

  • get_search_opportunities: the month's summary and opportunities, filterable by type and status.
  • build_search_opportunities: build or rebuild a month now.
  • Ask in plain words, for example: "What are our low-hanging fruit keywords this month?"

Questions

  • Why is my report empty? Search Console has to be connected for the project with the right property, and the month needs search traffic. If the last build failed, the reason is shown at the top; press Rebuild.
  • Why does a position look different from Google? Search Console averages positions across every country, device and day of the month. A rank check from one country and device on one day will often differ.
  • Why not the current month? Google finalises a month's data a couple of days after it ends, so the report always covers the last full month.
