Quality score: check a draft before you publish
Every long-form draft in Content Studio gets a 0-100 quality score: measured structure checks plus a review against Google’s E-E-A-T guidance, with the fixes worth the most points first.
The Quality score appears under the draft in Content Studio. It replaces the old "SEO score", which the writing model gave its own draft. The new score is measured on the draft itself and reviewed separately, so it goes up only when the draft gets better.
How it is made
- Structure (half the score): 13 measured checks worth 100 points: keyword in the title (8), SEO title length (6), meta description (8), answers the search first (12), clear H2 sections (10), questions answered in an FAQ (10), lists or tables (4), outside sources linked (10), links to your other pages (4), named author (8), depth in words (8), reading ease (8, English only), structured data (4).
- E-E-A-T (the other half): an AI review in the way Google’s quality raters judge pages: experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust, 25 points each, with the evidence it found and one fix for each.
- If the review cannot run, the overall score is the structure score.
Using it
- 1Generate a long-form draft (in Content Studio, through the AI assistant or by translating one). It is scored automatically as soon as it is created, so the score is ready when you open it.
- 2Read Biggest improvements: the five fixes worth the most points.
- 3Open Show every check for each check’s points, what was measured and how to fix it, and the E-E-A-T review.
- 4Edit the draft, then press Check again. Unchanged drafts return the saved score.
Quick wins
The checks that move most drafts fastest: a 2-3 sentence direct answer at the top, an FAQ with three real questions, two links to credible sources, and the author card turned on.
From your AI assistant
Ask "Score the quality of my latest article" or use the MCP tool
score_content_quality with the content ID. The content history list shows each draft’s quality score once it has one.
